The Challenge
Anglo American’s Moranbah North Mine required dedicated PCS engineering expertise to support their outbye conveyor systems during standard operating hours. The mine needed on-site technical coverage to ensure conveyor control systems operated reliably and troubleshoot issues as they arose.
Our Approach
Deftec deployed a Senior PCS Engineer to provide on-site Monday–Friday support for the outbye conveyor infrastructure, starting October 2025. The engagement combined hands-on field presence with remote offsite support capability, allowing the mine to maintain operational flexibility while ensuring expert technical resources were available when needed. This hybrid model balanced the cost of dedicated presence with the responsiveness required in a mining environment.
The Outcome
The arrangement provided Moranbah North Mine with immediate access to experienced PCS engineering expertise during critical operating hours, reducing downtime risk and supporting continuous conveyor system performance. The flexibility to pivot between on-site and remote support ensured the mine could scale assistance based on operational demand.
