Overview

UAV (drone) technology has transformed the way industrial sites are surveyed, inspected, and monitored. Deftec’s UAV surveying capability provides fast, safe, and cost-effective aerial data capture that would be difficult, dangerous, or time-consuming using traditional methods.

What we deliver

Aerial site surveys

Our RPA-licensed operators conduct aerial surveys of mining sites, industrial facilities, and infrastructure using high-resolution cameras and LiDAR sensors. We deliver survey data in standard formats compatible with your GIS and engineering software.

Photogrammetry and 3D modelling

Using drone-captured imagery, we produce accurate 3D models and point clouds of sites, stockpiles, and structures. These models support volume calculations, change detection, planning, and asset management.

Stockpile volume measurement

Accurate stockpile measurement is critical for inventory management and operational planning. Our UAV-based volumetric surveys deliver rapid, accurate measurements without the need to send personnel onto potentially unstable stockpiles.

Infrastructure inspection

Drones enable safe, cost-effective inspection of structures and infrastructure that would otherwise require expensive access equipment or pose safety risks — including transmission towers, conveyor structures, roofs, tanks, and remote assets.

Thermal and multispectral imaging

Equipped with thermal and multispectral cameras, our UAVs detect heat signatures and anomalies in equipment, electrical infrastructure, and environmental conditions — supporting predictive maintenance and compliance monitoring.

Licensing and compliance

Our UAV operations are conducted in full compliance with CASA regulations. Our operators hold current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) certification and our operations are covered by appropriate insurance.
